The Events
The Geneva Festival kicked-off with an opening firework display on Thursday 4th August at 10:30PM. The 10 days of festivities have been animated by flagship events such as the opening concert-show offered by the Indian Government (August 4th), a beach-rugby event at the Place du Rhône (August 5th, 6th, 7th), the 6th Rowing Sprint Cup which is part of the Fête de la Rade (August 6th), the 7th slowUp (August 7th), the big firework display with synchronised background music (August 13th), and the Café Waiters and Waitresses race (August 14th). Not to mention the 150 restaurants and Stands (distributed between Baby-Plage, the Quai Gustave Ador, the Jardin Anglais, the Quai Général-Guisan, the Quai du Mont Blanc and the Quai Wilson), the Big Wheel alongside the Jardin Anglais, and the Fairground on the Quai Wilson, which was at the heart of the lakeside activities during the whole Festival!
The 'Scenes'
Four scenes for one Festival! Once again the Geneva Festival installed the 'Club Scene' in the Jardin Anglais, Funkytown at Baby-Plage, the Ella Fitzgerald stage in the Parc la Grange, and the 0 Watt stage at the Rotonde des Pâquis.
