Stands

Funky dens, chic bars and terraces, open-air “guinguettes”. Stop off in Asia, Australia, Africa or Miami Beach… the best street food is to be found at the Fêtes.

On the Right Bank

A la baguette

Before going any further, let’s take stock of the situation.
The “0 Watt Stage” at the Rotonde des Pâquis, the first stage to be set up on the Right Bank, has attracted a swarm of stalls, including a Thai snack bar next to a Thai massage space – ideal for combining nourishment and wellbeing.
Just what we need before continuing on our gastronomic journey along the quay.

On the Left Bank

At the beach

Beyond the Jardin Anglais, the Disco Space goes Bistro, becoming the Miami Beach Energy Drink Space, with three snack bars, a lounge in which to savour refined beverages and spicy little dishes and a space where big name DJs will have you dancing into the wee hours.

Stop for a bite

It’s no secret – street food is going upmarket. This year more than ever. L’Entrecôte Saint-Jean, for one, the famous Plainpalais restaurant, is joining the Fêtes next to the “Club Stage”, alongside the raclette and fondue bistros where you can savour the traditional Swiss fare standing up at high tables properly set with all the fixings for a real fondue.

Mythical encores

All around the “Club Stage” some 20 stalls will be nestled under the foliage. Among them, such popular clubs and lounges as the Petit Palace, Trois Huit, Mister Pickwick Pub, Nonolet, La Garçonnière, Moa Club, as well as a few mid-town restaurants such as the excellent Chez Kei Chinese restaurant, Mir Indian Food, or the Italian La Barca, and more.

Concert-going is thirsty, hungry work, and some stalls will open well before evening, starting on the first day of the Pre-Festival, 15 July.

Sheer indulgence

OPAGE, Geneva’s office for the promotion of agricultural products, and the Dames Paysannes (a local women’s association) invite epicureans to discover the excellence of local wines and produce, which one can then purchase in the shops or directly from the producers. From the first day of the Pre-Festival, 15 July.

Out of Africa

For a bite of exoticism wander over to the Jet d’Eau and take an “Out of Africa” safari through the stalls of Mali, Guinea, Congo, Senegal… for authentic African cuisine accompanied by freshly prepared cocktails and fruit juices.
